Behind the Booth: Eclectic Finds, Great Design, and Vintage Vision with Kevin

NVE Ware-House
July 17, 2026 by Lulu Apmann

Welcome to Behind the Booth, where we get to know the incredible vendors behind our Vintage Emporiums.

Discover their stories, favorite finds, collecting passions, and the personalities that make every visit a new adventure.

Meet Kevin, the interior designer bringing every decade together at NVE Ware-House!

1. Give us the elevator pitch. Who are you, and what treasure-filled path led you to vintage?

            - I am Kevin Jacob and I am also an interior designer. What led me to vintage was that earlier in my life, I worked for Ralph Lauren, which was the door opener to the vintage world.

2. If someone walked into your booth for the first time, what would they find—and what might surprise them?

            - An eclectic mix of stuff from every decade, and the biggest surprise would be the diversity of the booth.

3. Describe your booth style in three words. (No pressure, but we’ll judge them.)

            - Eclectic, layered, and hopefully interesting.

4. What are you always hunting for when you’re out picking, thrifting, or treasure hunting?

            - Whatever pops to the surface. Vendors usually tend to have a specific item they are on the hunt for, but I am ever shop with an agenda and I am not limited in my search. I am not looking for one specific thing; I am looking for it all. Whenever I think “that’s cool” about an item, I will buy it.

5. What is your current favorite piece in your booth?

            - My current favorite item is the framed vintage Pin-Up Girl 1940’s matchbook covers. The story behind these framed matchbooks is that there is a whole subworld within antiques of people specifically collecting Pin-Up Girl items, and more specifically the matchbooks, which are super rare and collectible.

6. What’s one thing people often overlook when shopping vintage?

            - The vision needed to see how a particular vintage piece could be workable in their life.

If your booth had a theme song, what would it be?

- Any song by Fela Kuti would work, but specifically Water no Get Enemy by Fela Kuti.
